The Sounds of Chickasaw
The Chickasaw language has no official written style or alphabet. There are two main ways to spell Chickasaw words, and both are just as true as the other. In this book we will trend towards one style, but if you see the other do not be alarmed. This also includes the uniskript created by Sherrie Begay.
TBH I still don't fully understand the uniskript and how to apply it - I thought I did, but I realized that it's more complicated than I thought. The script itself isn't complicated, but figuring out the application of it with the way Chickasaw has been spelled many different ways is confusing lol.
Here will be an interactable table of the different sounds with their romanized/english version, uniskript version, and a voice clip to play to hear it.
